World Menopause Day

Susan Baumgaertel · October 17, 2025

October 18th is World Menopause Day, and every year there is a theme.

The theme this year?

Lifestyle Medicine.

🎯 This theme speaks to me on so many levels, especially since I wrote a book on it.

There is nothing wrong with MHT…menopause hormone therapy.

📢 Louder for those in the back: Hormones are great!

But, you still need to consider the many other ways of supporting women in perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

♥️ It’s like cardiovascular health…

Treating a critical stenosis in a coronary artery with stenting or bypass surgery is essential.

But so, too, is working on cholesterol reduction, weight management, blood pressure control, sleep and stress management, glucose control…just to name a few important things.

🌎 It’s all of this together.

Which comes full circle back to lifestyle medicine.

🏛️ Nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, social connection…all the pillars.

Which are essential to address when it comes to menopause management.

After all, everyone knows someone who is going through menopause.

💬 Spread the word!
