Crisis Hotlines

Susan Baumgaertel · September 13, 2021

Although the one year celebration of MenopauseMenu is just around the corner (September 19th) I wanted to be sure to bring a very important fact to light: September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

Here are helpful hotlines and resources for this and other urgent crises:

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800) 273-8255
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800) 273-8255 (Spanish)
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800) 799-4889 (Options for Deaf & Hard of Hearing)
Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
National Domestic Violence Hotline: (800) 799-7233
Veterans Crisis Line: (800) 273-8255
National Graduate Student Crisis Hotline: (877) 472-3457
National Sexual Assault Hotline: (800) 656-4673
Child Abuse Hotline: (800) 422-4453
CDC National HIV & AIDS Hotline: (800) 342-2437
Alcoholics Anonymous: (202) 966-9155
Narcotics Anonymous: (800) 543-4670
Gamblers Anonymous: (855) 222-5542

The National Alliance on Mental Illness also has good advice plus a way to locate state-specific NAMI locations and contacts all across the US.

You are safe. You are supported. You are valued.

Get help. Get help to get help.
